"Sew Many Blessings" Sew-a-thon: Thurs. June 24
Join us Thursday, June 24, from 6:30 to 8:30 pm for an informational session about the work of the Faith Project International and a sew-a-thon benefitting the organization's wood-burning stove recipients in Guatemala. We'll make potholders, kitchen towels, and oven mitts with donated fabric. No sewing experience necessary! The Faith Project International provides efficient, wood-burning stoves in the homes of participant families. Often, rural families cook over open fires in enclosed kitchens the way their ancestors have for centuries. This leads to respiratory illness and shortened life spans from prolonged smoke inhalation as well as rapid deforestation. The Faith Project International also administers a scholarship program targeting young women.
